I am Muhammad Umar, a passionate MProf. Game Development student with a focus on Gameplay Architecture (Unity C#) and Production Pipelines. My career thus far has been driven by a desire to create high-performance, maintainable game systems and optimize collaborative workflows within development teams. My practice revolves around engineering scalable and robust systems, ensuring that the technical challenges in game development are met with precision and ingenuity. Throughout my studies at Abertay University, I’ve transitioned from being a solo developer at an intermediate level to a professional who can confidently apply, communicate, and integrate complex technical solutions in alignment with industry standards. My aim is to secure a mid-to-senior level role, either as a Game Developer or a Technical Lead, where I can further contribute to the evolution of engaging, innovative games.

Pushing the boundaries of Game Architecture
MProf Research (Data-Oriented Stack)
I am actively researching the transition from Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) to Data-Oriented Design (DOD) using Unity’s DOTS and Burst Compiler. My goal is to quantify the performance gains in mobile simulation games.
Cross-Engine Engineering
While an expert in Unity, I am expanding my engineering vocabulary by mapping Unity’s memory management patterns against Unreal Engine’s C++ manual memory management. This comparative analysis strengthens my ability to write optimization-friendly code in any engine.
Stability Over Speed
I believe "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." I prioritize writing clean, modular code today to prevent "spaghetti code" disasters tomorrow.
